Davines Oi Shampoo Review

Davines Oi Shampoo is one of my favorites. I switched to the Naturaltech line because the oi conditioner (review forthcoming) has silicones in it. But I might switch back to using this shampoo because it is so nice.

pH Level: 5.5

Mia’s review: I love the OI shampoo! First, the smell is so fantastic. Not sweet smelling but kinda perfume-y in a very nice way. (Note: my absolute favorite Davines is the Love Smoothing line for the smell (and color) even though it did not work well with my hair type.) The label says it gives hair “extraordinary softness” and it definitely made my straight, coarse hair feel softer. Especially when used with the OI conditioner.

My hair stylist told me that Davines (unlike Kerastase) is known for having products that rinse cleanly out of your hair. For that reason, I don’t like a lot of the Davines products because my hair is left feeling a little squeaky. With my hair type, I need to feel like something was left in my hair after rinsing to make it feel soft.  I definitely don’t feel squeaky clean when using this shampoo. My hair feels clean and conditioned.

The only thing I don’t like about this shampoo is the bottle. The other Davines shampoos have a squeeze bottle with a small hole in the top. This shampoo just pours out which means if you aren’t careful you can pour way too much of it in your hand. The one thing I do love though about Davines is that nearly all their conditioners come in a tub because they are slightly thicker and can’t be poured. I do love that and will write more about that in my next review.
